The School of Human Ecology (founded in 1916 as the Domestic Science Department) has a rich history. There are more than 200 students and 1,800-plus alumni. A long standing goal of the School is to promote a strong academic environment so that our graduates are prepared for careers in one or more of the diverse fields of human ecology. The School of Human Ecology, including all academic programs, is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. The Family and Consumer Sciences Education concentration holds accreditation from the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education, and the Dietetics option holds accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education of the American Dietetics Association.
