Campus
urged to conserve energy
Due to rising utility costs at the University, everyone is asked
to please be mindful of your use of energy — the same as you
would at home. For example, turn off electrical appliances. Turn
off lights when leaving a room. Shorten showers. Lower thermostat
settings. Keep windows and doors closed to allow mechanical systems
to operate at minimum levels. Report leaking faucets or other signs
of water loss. Turn off computers and printers. Do not use space
heaters. Turn off lab research equipment as soon as results are
obtained, especially laboratory hoods. Please be an energy steward
in all you do. For more information on how to conserve energy on
campus, contact Dr. Mike Nivens at mnivens@tntech.edu.

Last Session of Three-Part Sexual Assault Series To be Held Nov. 24
The final program in a three-part sexual assault series titled ‘One-in-Four’ — because 25 percent of college women will become victims of sexual assault or rape — will be held at 6 p.m on Monday, Nov. 24, in Derryberry Auditorium.
Open to both men and women, the session is titled “Can I Kiss You?” and is a fun, interactive and thought-provoking look at why ‘asking first makes all the difference.’
It will be presented by Mike Domitrz, who has a background in entertainment and developed the program after learning in 1989 that his sister had been raped.
For more information about the session or the series, which is sponsored by TTU’s Dean of Students Office and Genesis House women’s shelter, call 372-3237.
