COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 24, 2008) — A widowed Tunisian seamstrees takes an unlikely journey of self-discovery in writer-director Raja Amari's sumptuous and sensual Satin Rouge. This movie is the third in a four-part examination of the cinema of North Africa. While investigating a suspected liaison between her headstrong teenaged daughter and a cabaret musician, young widow Lilia becomes drawn to an exotic nightclub netherworld of Rubenesque belly dancers and nocturnal pleasure-seekers. The movie will be showing at 7 p.m. in the Volpe Library and Media Center on Wednesday, Nov. 5.

TTU Music
There will be a Tuba A'tre recital on Sunday, November 2 at 3 p.m.

A Freshmen Tuba/Euphonium recital will take place on Sunday, November 2 at 4 p.m.

Jared box will have his senior recital at 7p.m. on Sunday, November 2.

Curtis Pritchard will have his senior recital at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 2.

A Horn Studio recital is scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, November 3.

There will be a guest piano recital performed by Sin-Hsing Tsai on Tuesday, November 4 at 7:30 p.m.

The Fall Trumpet Festival will take place on Wednesday, November 5 at 7:30 p.m.

Weston Demonbreum will perform a trombone recital on Thursday, November 6 at 7:30 p.m.

Ben Elsberry’s senior recital will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 7.

Joan Derryberry Art Gallery
William E. Hubschmitt’s digital art exhibit will continue showing until November 21.

Center Stage
Katharine Donato will be presenting “Changing Places, Changing Faces: Recent Immigrant Settlement in the United States and Its Implications” at 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 6 in Johnson Hall Auditorium.

The Appalachian Center for Craft is located six miles off Hwy. 56 (Interstate 40, Exit 273) near Smithville. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The Joan Derryberry Art Gallery is located on the first floor of the University Center and is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
