Tennessee Tech University Police

Tennessee Tech University’s Police Department is a professional law enforcement agency dedicated to the protection and security of the university community. TTU’s University Police support the educational mission of the university through maintaining an environment conducive to learning.

The University Police Department fosters cooperation among its officers and staff, residence hall staff members, university employees and students to enhance the campus’ overall safety and security. The campus community, made up of some 10,321 students and more than 1,150 employees, looks to the professionally trained University Police Department for a variety of services, including law enforcement, traffic and parking regulation, and crime prevention and safety training.

Safety Tips

1) Always lock your dorm room door when you leave, even if it is just for a few moments. It doesn't take long for someone to walk in and walk out with your valuables. Also, be sure to lock the door when you are sleeping as well.

2) Always lock your car - when your are in it and when you leave it. Keep valuables out of sight or locked in the trunk of your vehicle.

3) Always be aware of your surroundings.

4) Look under "Crime Prevention" (box on upper left) for more safety tips.

5) Remember: University Police is available 24/7 at 372-3234. You may also dial 911 for emergencies.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for clues called into 520-STOP on any wanted person, stolen property or drugs. Callers remain anonymous; they will only be known by the code number they are assigned. Crime Stoppers is a means for the public, the media, and the law enforcement to work together to solve crimes.
